Spain is a famous wind band country. Most of the bands are situated in Valencia region, but in areas such as Galicia are some excellent bands aswell. A well known wind band contest is the 'Certamen' in Valencia. The Spanish wind bands have often more than 100 musicians. It is not exceptional that violincellists participate in a Spanish wind band. This gives the band their warm 'Mediterranean' sound. Many cd's are recorded with Banda La Artistica, Bunol (see other page), but on this chapter some other high quality bands.
